AX3 bio-pure astaxanthin is a bioavailable formulation of pure astaxanthin encapsulated in white vegetarian capsules. AX3 contains the following ingredients:
Astaxanthin Formulation
- Astaxanthin (active ingredient)
- Modified Food Starch* (bioavailability enhancer)
- Corn Starch* (bioavailability enhancer)
- Glucose Syrup* (bioavailability enhancer)
- Sodium Ascorbate (shelf life enhancer)
- DL-alpha-Tocopherol (shelf life enhancer)
Description: to enhance bioavailability, astaxanthin is finely dispersed in a corn starch-coated matrix of modified food starch and glucose syrup; to enhance shelf life, DL-alpha-tocopherol (Vitamin E) and sodium ascorbate (Vitamin C) are added as sacrificial antioxidants to protect astaxanthin from oxygen in the air.
*Negligible amounts compared to normal dietary consumption. The amount per serving (i.e., in each capsule) of these ingredients is negligible compared to the starch and sugar content one may consume through the diet, with less than 0.18 grams of modified food starch, less than 0.05 grams of corn starch, and less than 0.04 grams of glucose syrup per serving.

- Titanium Dioxide, a natural pigment** (capsule color)
Description: white vegetarian capsule.
**Titanium dioxide provides the white color to the vegetarian capsule and is present at only ~0.0015 grams per serving (~0.3% by weight of the overall encapsulated product, well below the FDA limit of 1% by weight of food products). AX3 utilizes white capsules to provide a more aesthetic appearance given the mottled "salt and pepper" appearance of the encapsulated ingredients. Titanium dioxide is a naturally occurring mineral with a long history of use in food/supplement/drug/cosmetic applications and generally recognized as safe according to FDA regulations.

Description: microcrystalline cellulose, a white inert substance derived from wood pulp, is added as a bulking agent to protect capsule integrity; vegetable stearate, a white inert substance derived from plants, is added as a flow agent to facilitate the encapsulation process.
